Atlas Sound for Dazed and Confused

'Atlas Sound' Creature for Dazed and Confused,

This was a costume I made for Robbie Spencer and Daniel Sannwald for Dazed's 'Where the wild things are' issue. You can't see much of it because we wanted to keep it a little mysterious. We shot it in an 'industrial metal' club in Islington that looked like a torture chamber, it was actually pretty creepy. Atlas Sound was very reluctant to wear the costume (looking at it now i can kinda see why) but he was a good sport and finally gave in after I explained that I'd been up all night making the bloody thing. He even insisted he pay me for my trouble. It was a very odd afternoon.

Wax Heads.

These were shot by Jacob Sutton for Exit Magazine a couple of years ago, they've been shouting at me from my prop cupboard for ages, thought they were worth another look. They are actually shirts dipped in wax and molded into heads, if you look closely you can see the buttons.

Topsy Turvy concept models.

I've been pretty slow this year with the blogging, so to ease me into the year I'm posting a few things I've been meaning to show you for a while. First up are some 'Comme De Garcons' sketch model proposals I made for the 'Topsy Turvy' Shirt campaign last year.

I'm no 'still life' photographer but I hope these pictures give an idea of the feeling I was trying to capture. As with all my favourite things they're a bit sad and weird, vastly different to the poppy end result.

JUMP! Jacob Sutton and me.

Jacob Sutton is one of my favourite people to work with, we've made some great stuff together. If you don't know his photography already check his newly redesigned website at He's also recently caught the blog bug, check his new blog at Here's something we did as an experiment a couple of months ago.

Styling by John Colver, special thanks to Dave White and Georgina Bacchus.
